The purpose of this policy is to ensure we have a system to decide which games will be selected as an Official game.
Let me start by explaining the two :
Sandbox Games : All games that are introduced/suggested to Sovereign will initially be a Sandbox Game. The person who wants to suggest any game will do so in the Sandbox section of this forum. These games can then be tested by other Sovereign members and their reviews about the game will be considered.
Official Game : An Official game is one in which Sovereign recruits members under it's banner. This game will have it's separate discussion section within this forum. The in game guild of this game will be managed by one of the existing members of Sovereign.
Requirements for a game to go from Sandbox to Official :1 - The game must have been a Sandbox game.
2 - The game should have a minimum of 'X' current Sovereign members who are willing to play the game. For the time being, X will be 5. This number will be revised later as the guild expands.
3 - The Leader will be one of those X members who want to play the game. Applications from interested members will be taken and the General & Lt.General will decide on the guild leader. Suggestions from the member base for that game may also be considered.
New hierarchy model :Now, with this new system it requires a new hierarchy to accommodate the new guild leaders. So after much discussion here is what we have :
Note: Rank names are yet to be finalized.
Role Definitions :Guild Leader- Runs/manages the in-game branch of Sovereign.
- Main decision maker on all in-game aspects of the guild For ex : Diplomacy, Assigning roles to each officers and so on.
- Will work with General/Lt.General regarding officer promotions in the guild.
- Responsibility to ensure all members of the guild adhere to our rules.
- Provide periodic report to leadership about guild status and activities.
- Forum Privileges : Moderator for his game section.
Guild Officers- Will be selected through the promotion process (explained later)
- Will be delegated tasks as per the guild leaders discretion.
- Can cover tasks like recruitment, diplomacy, battle operations, etc.
- Forum privileges : Regular
Promotion Process :Guild Leader promotion :When a game has enough members to move to official, members interested in leading the guild can apply for the post. Out of the applicants, the guild leadership (General, Lt.General in consensus with current officers) will pick a member that it feels is capable of handling the roles and responsibilities of a guild leader and will be promoted as one.
Guild Officer promotion:-- The guild leader to post his officer requirements on the forum.
-- Interested candidates to apply for the position on the forums.
-- Guild Master to share the applications with the leadership along with his own views about each applicant.
-- Once everyone is in consensus, the candidate shall be promoted.
Note: The roles assigned to each of these promoted members is completely at the discretion of the guild master. Common guidelines for all games:1 -
Recruitment :
Going forward we have decided to make the application process optional. If an individual wants to just play in the in game guild, they will be free to (at discretion of the guild master). However, for any form of promotions, the individual will be expected to have a forum account.
"This way, the in-game guild will be fun & active.
We also believe that through a fun in-game guild people may become interested in the community itself.
If they sign up because they are, we are more likely to get active members as opposed to forcing them to register.
Additionally, if we post in-game events/news/guides etc. on the forum (and make some sections member-only ?) people will have a reason to visit."
Note: Although it's optional, it is recommended that the guild masters insist their members to sign up.2 -
Promotions :
Promotion process remains more or less the same with the candidate having to post the application and that being reviewed and approved by the leadership.
3 -
Rules :
No matter what game is being played, following the Sovereign rules is a must. It's the responsibility of the guild master to ensure they are being followed.
Note : We are still working out some finer details like Ranks and other things.
Discuss.
